Company History
Our doors have been open since 1977 operating out of the same location along 249--back then 149, a small, two-lane road. Founder, Alan Downs, always prided his business on providing the finest pre-owned vehicles to area neighbors and fellow business owners--this way they would always have vehicle that could be counted on.
As the area and his business have grown through the years, the vision has remained the same. Today the company is owned and operated by the Downs family with the same commitment to the values that were put in place 33 years ago.
Business Philosophy
Intake
Pride is taken in every vehicle that comes through our dealership. Careful thought and selection is given before any car or truck is brought onto our sales floor. We only want to deliver to our customer’s vehicles that work for them.....not vice versa.
Preparation for Sale
It has never been a practice at 149 Auto Sales to just run a vehicle through the wash and try to sell it. The proper time is spent with every car or truck prior to hitting the sales floor to inspect it for any problems or issues that need to be addressed.
The Sales Floor
Our small sales staff has over 33 years of experience to offer our customers. It is our aim to educate the buyer as well as assist them in finding the right vehicle for their unique purpose or special needs. Located on the window of each vehicle on our sales floor is the "Out-The-Door" price so that all is clear and laid out.
The Follow-Up
Over 50% of 149 Auto Sales customers are repeats. We do not care if we are the first dealership you do business with...we strive to be the last. Throughout the year sales and specials are run that are exclusively offered to our customer base. It has been a pleasure to help fellow business owners grow the area with us since 1977.
